There are several hundred species of neotropical green moths in the family Geometridae, subfamily Geometrinae. Many have a blue-green or yellow-green colour to their wings hence the common name "emerald moths". This moth is probably in the genus "Synchlora". Photographed in the morning at a light trap.
This is a male masked trogon, "Trogon personatus" (Trogonidae). This individual has been living at Yanayacu Biological Station in the Ecuadorian cloud forest for many years.
Her mandibles may look scary, but these megalopterans are quite docile and can be handled with the proper gentle technique.
