Leaf Beetles

There are hundreds of species of leaf beetles (family Chrysomelidae) in the Amazon rain forest; adults and larvae feed on living leaves of their host plants. Females and males are known to mate with multiple partners, and associations during copulation may last for hours or even days. The larger individual feeding is the female.
